Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Pulse Status (the “Service”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

The Service

Pulse Status lets you configure automated checks against URLs, APIs, and hosts you specify, view the results, manage incidents, and optionally publish public status pages. Sign-in is via emailed magic link or, where enabled, Google OAuth.

We may offer free and paid plans with different limits (number of monitors, check frequency, and similar). We’ll describe current plan details on our pricing page. We may change plans, pricing, or features going forward, and will give you reasonable notice of changes that materially affect a paid plan you’re subscribed to.

Acceptable use

You agree that you will only configure monitors for URLs, APIs, and hosts that you own, operate, or otherwise have clear authorization to send automated requests to. You will not use the Service to:

• Probe, scan, or send traffic to systems you don’t have permission to access, including internal or private network addresses;
• Attempt to circumvent any technical measure we use to restrict what the Service can be pointed at;
• Send excessive or abusive traffic to a target, or use the Service as a denial-of-service tool;
• Use webhook or alert-destination fields to exfiltrate data, spam third parties, or send unsolicited email;
• Violate any applicable law, or infringe the rights of others, in connection with your use of the Service.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, with or without notice.

Your account

You’re responsible for maintaining access to the email address associated with your account, and for all activity under your account. Let us know right away if you believe your account has been compromised.

Public status pages and subscribers

If you publish a status page, its content (service names, uptime history, and incident updates you write) is publicly visible to anyone with the URL. If you enable subscriber email notifications, you’re responsible for the accuracy of what you communicate to subscribers through that feature and for complying with applicable law regarding those communications.

Service availability

We aim to keep the Service reliable, but we don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. Scheduled or emergency maintenance may cause temporary downtime. Check results, alerts, and status page updates are provided on a best-effort basis and should not be relied on as your sole means of detecting or communicating outages for critical systems.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pulse Status will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service — including a missed or delayed alert about an outage. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose (or, for free-plan use, $100).

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, or discontinue the Service (or features of it) with reasonable notice where practical.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
