Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 22, 2026
This policy describes what information Pulse Status (“we”, “us”) collects when you use our uptime monitoring and status page service (the “Service”), why we collect it, and what choices you have.
Information we collect
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive the basic profile information Google provides for authentication (name, email, profile photo).
Content you create. To provide the Service, we store what you configure: monitor names and target URLs/hosts, check intervals and settings, incident titles and updates, status page names, branding, and content, and alert destinations (an override email address, and any Slack or Discord webhook URLs you add).
Monitoring data. We record the results of the automated checks we run on your behalf: response times, status codes, error messages, and (for HTTPS targets) certificate expiry dates.
Subscriber information. If you publish a public status page, visitors may submit their email address to subscribe to incident updates for that page. We store that email address and a confirmation status (subscriptions require the visitor to confirm via an emailed link before any notifications are sent). If you operate a status page, you are responsible for how you describe this to your own visitors.
Technical information. We log IP addresses on certain requests for abuse-prevention purposes (rate limiting). We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies — the only cookies we set are strictly necessary session cookies used to keep you signed in.
How we use this information
- To operate the Service — running checks, sending alerts, rendering status pages, and delivering incident notifications.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To communicate with you about your account, including transactional emails (magic-link sign-in, monitor alerts, subscriber confirmations) sent via our email provider, Resend.
- To detect and prevent abuse of the Service, including rate-limiting and blocking checks aimed at private or internal network addresses.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of third-party service providers to operate the Service, each acting as a data processor on our behalf:
- Supabase — database hosting, authentication, and file storage.
- Resend — delivery of transactional and alert emails.
- Vercel — application hosting.
If you configure a Slack or Discord webhook for alerts, the content of alert messages (monitor name, URL, and error details) is sent directly to that destination — that transfer is governed by your own Slack/Discord workspace settings, not by us.
We do not otherwise share your information with third parties, except where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Pulse Status or others.
Data retention
We retain your account and content for as long as your account is active. Historical check results may be periodically pruned to manage storage. If you delete your account, your profile, monitors, incidents, status pages, and their associated data are permanently deleted; this cannot be undone.
Your rights and choices
You can review and edit most of your account’s data directly within the app. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from your Account page. If you’d like a copy of your data, or have another request regarding your personal information, contact us using the details below.
If you’re located in the European Economic Area, the UK, or a jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you may have additional rights (such as access, correction, portability, or objection) under applicable law; contact us to exercise them.
Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
International data transfers
Our service providers may process and store data in countries other than your own. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer, storage, and processing.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
